About us

Introduction
Flore Preschool has been established for over 40 years and is held at the Brodie Lodge in Flore's playing field.
The Preschool is run together by a dedicated team of staff and a Management Committee of parents and carers providing care and education for children aged from 2 years up until school age.

Aims
We aim to enhance the development and education of the children in a safe, secure and stimulating environment.
School links
The preschool is closely linked to Flore Church of England Primary School, Flore.

Learning
Flore Preschool combine play with education by following the Department of Education's learning framework, the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). The EYFS is a stage of children's development from birth to the end of their first (Reception) year in school. The framework was revised for September 2012 to make it clearer, with more focus on children's learning and greater emphasis on working in partnerships with parents to support children's learning at home. Learning within the setting is guided by staff who skillfully support children's learning and development through effective teaching. Each child's learning and development is observed and recorded in personal learning journeys which enable staff to plan for the individual child to support, strengthen and deepen their current learning and development.
